Using donor sperm can be immensely helpful to couples who struggle with male fertility, same-sex couples and even single females wanting to start a family. Before being able to donate, sperm donors undergo various medical screening assessments to ensure that quality, healthy sperm will be donated.

Is using donor sperm right for me?

There is no wrong way to have a child – whether you need donor tissue such as egg or sperm, a surrogate, IVF, or adoption. In the end, it’s your child and you just might need some help to get there. How you raise the child will ultimately be up to you. Your doctor may recommend using donor eggs for various reasons.

Couples with male factor infertility

In some cases, men need a donor because the can’t make quality sperm or have lost their ability to produce sperm such as having a vasectomy.

Same-sex couples

For lesbian couples, a sperm donor is necessary to help them create a family. The couple can go through various donor profiles at our recommended sperm bank and choose a suitable donor.

Single females

If you are a single female waning to become a parent, donor sperm can help you make that dream come true.

How does sperm donation work?

Choose donor

An anonymous or known sperm donor may be used. The donor is selected form an sperm donor agency. We recommend contacting Androcryos to select a donor. 

Donor assessment

The donor undergoes strict medical screening including medical history and disease checks. Read more on the Androcryos website

Sperm delivery

Delivery of the sperm must be arranged prior to the 9th day of the patient’s cycle.

Artificial Insemination

The insemination can occur using artificial insemination or through IVF.
